Cheeky blighter!
Anybody who uses birds feeders will know they aren't designed for the large birds. OK, I don't mind the Pheasants, Woodpigeons, Jackdaws, Rooks, etc, picking up the fallen seed below the feeders. This cheeky so and so has solved the problem. It has worked out that if it hangs on to the vertical pole of the feeder it can get a couple of pecks in before it slides down. Not only that but it dislodges extra seed which it collects later.
The Rook ( Corvus frugilegus ) being a member of the crow family is naturally very intelligent. None of the other large birds e..g. Pheasant, Woodpigeon not even the Jackdaw (another Corvid) have even attempted this trick let alone succeeded.
