Glassware

Cleaning the dining room today, so everything came off the dresser. I realised in doing this that it is almost all glassware and none of it was bought by me or for me. How do I accumulate so much stuff? I have to say though that I don't keep anything I don't like. 

Sherry glasses - these are very small, but really pretty. The funny thing is that I know they came from my Grandma, as I can remember them sitting in a glass-fronted cabinet in the front room. They were never used  though, as my grandparents did not drink and my parents never drank at their house. So, I wonder where they came from originally. Perhaps they are older than I thought.
