Streaky Pub
This is a classic South Australian outback pub. It's in Streaky Bay, on the Eyre Peninsula, which everyone here shortens to just 'Streaky'. The name was given to the Bay in 1802 by Matthew Flinders (he named everything around here) because he saw streaks in the water. Maybe caused by the effects of light falling on undersea beds of seaweed.
This is the furthest west we are going on this trip. The last time we were here, 10 years ago, we drove on to Perth in Western Australia, another 2,000 km. But tomorrow, we head back east to Port Lincoln, the start of our long drive home, around 2,300 km. We'll do it in easy stages over the next two weeks or so.
