Red red rose

It’s Burns night here, the time we remember Scotland’s celebrated poet Robert Burns. It seemed appropriate to make this statue the subject of my blip today. Although it’s not related to Burns itself, the young girl is handing the soldier a rose. Minded me of Burn’s poem ‘My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose’ and it’s always nice to see how someone has added real flowers.

Much excitement - tomorrow I’m travelling to London to see an art exhibition. Hokusai at the British Museum, can’t wait!
