Spring-like

The carpet fitters arrived mid-morning, worked quickly, and the carpet had been laid in the bedroom well before lunchtime. It looks good! Just one or two more little jobs to do, including making the curtains, before we can move the bed back in. Hooray!

To celebrate, a walk round Branton Lakes. It's months since we've been there, and today it seemed quite spring-like, especially under the blue sky.  Catkins in profusion, blowing in the breeze, and pussy willows too. Lots of cormorants on the islands, and several swans on the lakes, but very few ducks and geese. Several large trees had blown down during Storm Arwen, and we had to circumnavigate a couple but, thank goodness, most of the smaller trees escaped damage.

Home to catch up with some of the little tasks that have been neglected while we've been decorating. Meanwhile, MrM baked a cake and cooked our evening meal. Hmmm, it'll take more exercise than today's walk to burn off those calories!
