Orchid

We were woken today by the clock flashing - there had been a brief power outage and everything electrical needed to be reset. It was half an hour before our usual wake up time, so no chance to get fully back to sleep.

Our possible new cleaner arrived in the morning to look at the house and give us a price. She seems really nice, and is going to be starting later this week.

The plumber was finally able to come at the end of the day, and has capped off the toilet leak. The toilet can't be flushed (unless you use a bucket of water!) but we have three other toilets so we'll cope. The guy who built this house built the toilet in under a work surface in such a way that you can't lift the lid of the cistern unless you remove the work surface. This is going to be a job for next week. At least we're not constantly fearing a flood!

I only went for a ten minute walk today, because what with all the goings on, and another power outage at lunch time not long before my clarinet lesson, it's been a bit of a day.

Tomorrow is our late friend Marlene's birthday and in remembrance we will be posting pictures of teddy bears, in case any of you want to join in.
