Ramble Through the Brambles

(Title, courtesy of Tom, there were a few brambles.)

Spent the morning (after a lie-in and relaxed breakfast) walking to Guillaume's to check on his trees, might need watering soon. Passed this guy burning his olive prunings; there are small plumes of smoke all over at the moment, folk doing this before fires are prohibited as it gets drier. In the background, Mourão's new posh hotel.

This afternoon, Mike and Tom went to buy steel to make our stork platform, and then we all went off to Reguengos to have a drink at my new favourite place, but it was closed till the 18th February, shame. But we went to Rui's instead, and Eileen joined us after she'd closed her shop.

Gratefuls:
- all of us catching up on sleep
- eating lunch outside in the warm sunshine
- finding out what an Alentejano tiborna is, basically a bruschetta; we had one with sardines and red peppers, and plenty of olive oil at Rui's
