Me Again
Wetland Bird Survey today. There wasn't a great deal around - just the usual Mallards, Mandarins and a Moorhen, plus a couple of Cormorants and some Black-headed Gulls. The most unusual sightings were a couple of Bullfinches and a Goldcrest in the woodland. I blipped a Robin when we did the survey in December and I'm quite sure this was the same one. They are very territorial and not only was he in the same spot, but even by Robin standards he was surprisingly confiding. When I stopped to say hello, he flew first to a nearby branch, then onto the ground next to my feet. A number of people leave food by the path and I wondered whether he'd mistaken me for one of them. If I remember, I'll take some with me next time.
