Jumper

One of those days that remind me why January is the longest month by a mile! The number of fine days last week was wonderful, but then that cold dullness is back with us and I'm back to wishing it away.
Blackbirds, apart perching to eat berries, seem to be mostly ground feeders. At this time of year, I put down chopped pears for them, and they practically ambush me when I take them out in the morning, but I've noticed of late that at least one of them has taken to jumping up at the sunflower feeder. New behaviour to me!
