Escape Hatch
Since the recent demise of a 100 year old lilac shrub, it has become possible to photograph the South Gable facade.
The window in the thumbnail replaced a dreadful timber "effort" that replaced the storm damaged diamond original, remnants of which are still leaning against the east wall marking the extent of ”The Policies".
The replacement leaked like a sieve and caused a lot of damage over the years. It was a matter we resolved within a year of purchasing the property.
The new window is very similar to the secondary windows that are located behind the original diamond windows elsewhere.
The time is coming when the original diamond windows will need to be replaced. They are 180 years old.
It is a busy day completing the various papers for the Taxman who is expecting them by the end of January.
I imagine that many others are involved in a similar exercise. It is fun.
