Curlew on Cramond Beach
Forecast was better for the east so headed over.
Walked part of the way across the causeway to Cramond island but with our usual bad timing the tide was on it’s way in so we were unable to go all the way over without getting stranded.
Good selection of birds on the beach: curlews, turnstone, oystercatchers, gulls, redshank
Extra: interesting to watch a solitary crow wade through the shallows, find a cockle, bring it out onto the causeway, prise it open and eat the juicy innards.
