Close But Not Quite Enough
Todays photograph is of my friend Wilf Smith of Falmouth Royal Naval Association, it was taken in 1946 six months or so into his Naval career. Sadly Wilf “Crossed The Bar” yesterday morning at a care home in Street, Somerset. A staunch supporter of the RNA and through his local Branch the youth in the form of the Sea Cadets.
A Good Life Well Lived
Saturdays when Mrs S is working are becoming a rugby day spent with the ‘Thursday Gang’. Following breakfast and a walk with Paddy I headed up to the club around thirty minutes before kick off.
Falmouth played much better, lighter and faster than Bideford for periods of the first half it looked as though we might win but it was not to be however finally going down 20-29.
Part of the problem appears that they are “too nice”, they need to get a bit of the nasty streak that most good sides have.
