Time Flies
Just outside of West Saltoun is a wood through which we like to roam. We went there today. If you walk through it, out the other end and across the edge of a field you pick up a path that leads to a tumbledown cottage. It's little more than the gable walls and the chimney stacks. As you get closer you see window boxes in the gaps which once were windows; closer still and you see that the ground within has been turfed and bushes and plants in pots and in the ground are maintained within. You see a chair and a watering can. When you come round to the front of the cottage you see that what remains of the walls are really enclosing a little memorial garden. It's beautiful, sweet and dear. He to whose memory it is tended is clearly much beloved.
This clock hangs on an internal wall. At the entrance is a sundial engraved with the words: "Time Flies". Indeed it does.
