Mary Queen of Scots
On a road that runs between Elphinstone and Carberry I've spied an ivy covered entrance to something or other in a wall that runs along the side of the road. Me and the boys went up to visit it today. It's the entrance to a path that leads to a monument for MQoS commemorating how she surrendered here after the battle of Pinkie. It's a lovely area of woodland that trails down the hill towards Carberry House. What's most impressive about the place is how the path has been converted into a dirt bike track full of ramps, dips, curves and inclines, all built from logs and dirt. We all laughed at how this sign had been modified.
The five of us went out for tea tonight. As usual it was well worth exploiting the opportunity to all be together.
