The renovation and new building are still going on apace at the old Royal Infirmary in Quartermile. There is scaffolding to dizzing heights everywhere.
It’s a huge job and the result will make a grand looking frontispiece on Lauriston Place when it is eventually finished and housing the new Edinburgh Futures Institute under the aegis of Edinburgh University.
With the lovely old building of George Heriot’s school opposite, the two will be a great double act of beautiful architecture.
