General Electric GE90

A pair of these bad boys helped to bring us back from Hong Kong to Paris CDG airport this morning. This was taken while waiting for the connecting flight to Edinburgh which because was going to be a teeny BAe 146, meant we waited on the ground floor. Hence this 'last thing a bird will see' view of this magnificent piece of aerospace engineering. As a kid, I used to memorise the names and thrusts of major aircraft jet engines, so this is a small reminder of those carefree days.
