Monstrous arm

Well, that's what I saw as I passed this tree today. It's a familiar one on the Heriot Watt perimeter path, but I haven't thought 'arm' before.

Earlier, some strollers of I guess my age were trying out the outdoor gym as I sat on Tam Daly's tree stump seat.
