Freezing fog and icy pavement meant my run this morning was a bit interesting. Luckily it thawed relatively quickly so the return leg was a bit less skiddy. Himself has decided he's going to start volunteering at one of our two local Parkruns (not the one I sometimes go to) this year so he was up and out early. He managed to get a run in as well so was quite pleased with himself. Almost two years of WaH has highlighted to both of us that we need more local friends; we both had a social life that centered around central London with many of our friends being 'Northerners' that we just don't see as much any more. I have WI and a small group I sometimes go walking with, as well as a car which helps a lot but he doesn't drive and doesn't really 'do' anything. I thinks it's much easier for women, we tend to have better opportunities and just get on with it.
My neighbour has been cutting back some of the trees between us so I helped him with that this afternoon and let him fill our garden waste bin. It's a bit soggy to do anything else yet.
Himself and i are also trying to decide where to go for a long weekend next week. We both have a couple of days holiday left to take before the end of Jan and I don't want to just sit around the house. So far the short list is Oxford (expensive, city, only a couple of hours away) or Exmouth (seaside, better value, five hour drive). I've no idea how we came up with those two as options!
I've just seen this is my 1111th entry. It may not be an official marker but it's a great number.
