Frosty pond

The temperatures have been pretty chilly recently (finally normal winter weather!) and I've needed to keep an eye on the pond to ensure it doesn't completely freeze over. 

Luckily we've had mostly light frosts (hard frosts are more dangerous for gardens) and lots of sunshine during the day. 

This is what the pond looked like mid morning, after I'd broken some of the thin ice. A beautiful winter scene!
