Scalloway Fire Festival Canx

After what felt like a year of wind, today was flat calm, with a slight breeze tonight.  Cloudy first thing, but turned into a beautiful sunny day.

A fine walk around Scalloway this morning, and then popped by Madeline's for a cuppa.  Off to work in the airport, and the last late shift of the week.  A fairly quiet day, but a mad rush of passengers on the last two flights.  More walkies with Sammy this evening.

Today should have been the Scalloway Fire Festival, but cancelled again due to Covid-19, along with all the other Up Helly Aa's. No Vikings, no galley to burn, no fire torch procession, no halls, no squads, no acts, no fun.  Fingers crossed it will return next year.  The annual bill has gone up again this year, where stories of silly things people have done get written about them, taking the mick.  As I've not seen that many people this past year, most of the stories must have been private jokes and such like, so it didn't make much sense to me.  Keeping another tradition going, I best head out for a pint tonight, just for traditions sake.  A couple reading this year's bill, Main Street, Scalloway.
