Canal Walking

Another beautiful, frosty, sunny day today.
I walked a 5.5K loop along the canal and river and saw more kingfishers, including one that dived off a high branch straight into the water next to me. The sunshine emphasised the amazing colour of its blue back as it flew off along the canal.

It’s N’s birthday today and he’s 23. He’s not at home, but we’re going to visit him tomorrow in Birmingham to take him out for lunch. It will be lovely to see him. I still haven’t really got used to the kids not being at home on their birthdays.
