Literally Just A Big Hole In The Ground

Early this morning workmen from our local water company turned up, closed our road and starting digging a hole right across the street with no warning. 
They left an exit at the end of the road to enable residents to get their cars out but there were still quite a large number of cars and vans that ignored the road closed sign and then had to turn back. They seem to think that the sign doesn't apply to them!
As you can probably tell I hadn't managed to get any other images today so this is literally just a shot of a big hole in the ground in the rain! :-)
