Hand in Glove

Popped into Aldi today, and couldn’t resist a browse of the middle aisle offerings. Found a basket of running tops but the only mens ones they had left were a 2XL or a Medium. Now, I would normally plump for a size Large, but I bought a pair of running/gym trousers from Aldi before Christmas which were described as “Medium” and fitted perfectly. Working on the assumption that the Medium top might be a similar fit, I took a gamble and purchased it.
A good move - it fitted perfectly and should keep me warm when I go running during these winter months. It also kept me warm in the (unheated) gym this afternoon so I will be getting plenty of use out of it.
At first, I had thought the sleeves were too long, until I realised that there was a hole for the thumb to go through, which keeps the hands covered whilst running -meaning the sleeves are a perfect length! Even better was discovering that the cuffs could be turned over the ends of one’s fingers for maximum warmth. Now I’ve got no excuse not to go out if it’s chilly outside!
Panto restarts tonight - 5 performances to go before we finish on Saturday night - so it’s back to early teas and late nights. Amazingly, we’ve still not had anybody testing positive so it’s fingers crossed we make it to the end of the run unscathed.
All I’ve got to do now is hope I can remember all my lines after three days off!
