Amandine's Plot Treize

Seed sowing time!

Today was a gloriously sunny winter day - I pottered around and barrowed a compost delivery from my house to the plot.

There's nothing like crispy sunshine in mid January to start noticing the slightly longer days. It only means one thing: it'll soon be time to sow seeds, hurray!

So this week, I'm doing a seed inventory, putting the seeds I can start sowing next month aside (chilli/pepper, aubergine, tomato, which all need a long growing season) and getting organised with my orders (I need lettuce seeds and seed potatoes), and of course ordering compost. I've got perlite and vermiculite in the shed. I'll also need to check on my wooden plant labels as I noticed a lot of them had started to rot or break.

I invested in grow lights last year to give seedlings a helping hand but I've promised myself I wouldn't get too carried away and start sowing until February, so I need to be patient for a little while longer.
