St Abbs lighthouse
Sunny, mild, and not too windy - perfect weather for a walk. So we took the day off, and drove across the Border to the National Trust car park just above St Abbs. From there we walked by Mire Loch to the lighthouse on St Abbs Head, and back along the cliff tops. It's a walk we've done several times before, usually in the reverse direction, but it always delights!
It was quite sheltered by the loch, and when we stopped for lunch, basking in the sun on the cliff top, warm enough for MrM to take his jacket off. But a little higher up, by the lighthouse, it was windy and chilly enough for hats and gloves. Not a long walk, just over 7km, but with enough ups and downs to make you feel as though you've had some exercise!
Back home via Duns and Coldstream, enjoying a spectacular sunset.
A few extras - Mire Loch; lunch stop, looking northwest; looking back up to the lighthouse; sea view; St Abbs village
