Ups and Downs

Sunny, high of 34 deg F. We got up, washed the linens and ate a few pancakes. Brooklyn was playing basketball today and we joined her parents and brother at the game. As you can see, when she jumps off the floor, she’s the tallest player. She scored 10 points and had several great defensive plays. Whereas Brooklyn has played basketball for six years, this is the first year playing for most of her teammates. It will be a learning year for the team. Hubby had a great day as well. His new toy arrived a few days ago but it had to stay in the box for at least 24 hours. He got it out, tuned it and spent a bit of time enjoying it. We were having a nice restful Saturday, until this evening. We decided to go to Mass virtually; there were 300 new COVID cases in our county today. Just as Mass started, my mother called crying. She had just gotten word my cousin who lives across the field from her, is in the hospital with COVID. After Mass, hubby and I grabbed dinner and went down to eat with momma. I got an update on the way down; my cousin has gone into pneumonia with COVID but it sounds like she is improving so we reassured my mother Barb would be okay and home in a few days. It gets awfully lonely down there for her. We were so glad we visited and my mother couldn’t tell us enough, how much she enjoyed having someone to eat dinner with. While eating, we got another call that my sister (not the one who blips) also tested positive today. Her hubby just got over it. With her chronic medical issues, this is not good news. When will our world see the end of this scourge? I guess you folks are seeing the same spread where you live. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “Try to make at least one person happy every day. If you cannot do a kind deed, speak a kind word. If you cannot speak a kind word, think a kind thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you would dispense in a week, in a year, in a lifetime!” - Lawrence G. Lovasik
