Tulips from Amsterdam

These colourful tulips are my first flowers of the New Year and a welcome harbinger of Spring, even though sometimes that seems a long way off.

Today was surprisingly much milder than yesterday and the pavements were ice free so that there was no need for anyone to hang on to railings on their way down the Mound to town. The downside was quite a dreich day although it brightened up briefly in the afternoon for me to fit in a walk before an invitation for a cup of tea at my young neighbours over the way.
It’s always uplifting to hear the views of a younger generation not yet battle weary.
