They Are At It Again

Sunny but windy, high of 33 deg F. Brrr. It was a cold brisk day for sure. I stayed inside. We got about two more inches of snow but it was dry and fluffy, did not stick on the trees or roadways. Hubby went out quickly to dump our compost and his hands were like ice. He had physical therapy and they’ve decided he will continue twice a week until the end of January. I did a bit of housework and made plans with my youngest daughter for her family to come over Sunday for breakfast and to open their Christmas gifts. They all seem to be fully recovered. So glad the tree is still up. My cacti are blooming again; this time it’s the lighter colored one. There are salmon and white buds also ready to bloom. Hubby took our trash/recycling to the convenience center and is now at the grocery store getting all the needed supplies for Sunday. He’s called several times; the shelves are empty so he’s needed advice on substitutes. I guess the storms have interrupted the supply chain. The pork ribs are ready so I just have to make side dishes tonight. But the kitties and I are really enjoying a snuggle on the recliner; I hate getting up. This is why January is one of my favorite months. It may be cold and gloomy but I relish those quiet days. Have a wonderful weekend and be safe. “In the cold dark days of the winter, dream about the flowers to get warmed up!” - Mehmet Murat Ildan
