Kawarau River …

….. wending it’s way east, from Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown out to the Pacific Ocean.

A combination of walking out through farmland to the Kawarau River, and then driving up the Coronet Peak Road to the Skippers turnoff, ended up with Missy & me walking 10kms today. That’s a bit more like it! A beautifully sunny day, but with a chilly wind, meant we weren’t fighting yesterday’s heat.

We walked part of the MTB/walking trail up Coronet, and I wouldn’t recommend walking it for anyone at this time of the year, because there are far too many bikes. It’s lethal! I’ll go back again when it’s not holiday time. Great views though - see Extras.
