Out and about
beautiful sunshine today so we were out enjoying it! Started at West Bay with a bacon buttie and coffee and a wander around. Then off to beautiful Lyme Regis for a walk along the seafront and round the cob - where this photo was taken.
Then vaguely headed east and randomly decided to stop at Symondsbury - near Colmers Hill. Just near there is the famous Shutes Lane - one of Dorset’s holloways- which are tracks that have been worn down and down over the years - totally fascinating.
Then came home viaPowerstock - a small village near Bridport where some of my ancestors originated from in the 1600,s. Went in the church there and the arch way (extra) which is weirdly wonky dates back from the 1100,s - a strange thought that my ancestors would have worshipped in that church looking at that arch. I find history fascinating.
