Past eight o’clock on a cold and frosty morning, past eight o’clock, good morrow dookers all. apologies to John Rutter
It was cold,1°, feeling like -4° in the wind and a trifle frosty but the water was a relatively balmy 7.1° for early January.
I say we managed 10 minutes of submersion, Sue said 9 minutes but whatever it was , it was long enough. Never has a hot shower back home felt so good. There were several women in the sea with us and also the naked star jumper but he kept well away.
It was a beautiful dawn looking over to Fife cloaked under a hazy pinkness. I did think that, had it been 20° warmer, it looked like the dawns you see in the Greek Islands in summer. However, summer it is not, so the trick is to get into clothes as quickly as possible. I dress for the worst scenario of having something untoward happening on the way home and being decently attired, while Sue relies on just her Dry Robe- one optimistic brave lady!
