A Wet Monday

‘When Topsy and Tim woke up on Monday morning the rain was pouring down. “Nice weather, said Topsy, for ducks” ‘
So ran the first paragraph of a children’s book much loved by my brood 50 years ago. If I still had children to read to, this would have made a pertinent story for today as I hunkered down inside while looking at the weather outside. I’m only glad it wasn’t yet the snow falling.

With outside activities on hold, there was absolutely no excuse not to clean the bathrooms which in one case involves sprucing up the fishing fleet gracing the window recess. They have definitely been in harbour too long.

Porty daughter visited this afternoon to eat Christmas Cake and tell me about her Christmas fortnight in Cyprus where she met up with my granddaughter who flew in from Sharjah. She says she was very impressed with the Covid testing both ways which was quick and efficient.
