A day of contrasts

We took the bus into central Auckland this morning and walked up Queen Street to the Aotea Centre to see the Michelangelo - A Different View exhibition. Entry wasn’t at allocated times, so we queued for an hour, which took the shine of the whole experience and perhaps coloured our view of the exhibition.  Certainly, compared to the immersive experience of the Van Gogh exhibition, it didn’t really excite the senses.

This afternoon we hopped on our trusty bikes and delivered the last of the calendars, then rewarded ourselves for a job well done by treating ourselves to a drink and a meal at Annabelle’s restaurant in St Heliers. We sat outside and admired the view of the beach across the road.  It’s been another hot, sunny day.

Extra 1 is of two completely different artworks - the Aotea Tapestry (https://www.aucklandlive.co.nz/aotea-tapestry) inside the Aotea Centre; and people viewing a replica of the Sistine Chapel ceiling, but laid on the floor rather than suspended from the ceiling.
