An Avid Lensman

Leaving the Cathedral Close...

Apologies for replacing the original entry, which a couple of Blippers really liked. However, I was not happy with the technical quality of it. I'd prefer to get that shot exactly as I'd like it and will try and re-shoot.

Here is a handheld shot taken just inside Salisbury's Cathedral Close, very late. I liked the quite subtle, softish light and colours, with the floodlit spire in the background.

Lens is Nikkor D 17-35mm f2.8 wide open. ISO is 3200

Waking up and seeing this fresh, I am alarmed at how noisy it was and wondered what possessed me to put up another technically poor shot. However, it seems to be liked. I think the shadow extraction around the left and foreground contributed to this more than the iso speed used.
