Slip slidin' away

Many driveways on the island are curvy, narrow and steep. The driver of this car made it around one curve then slid off the driveway and into the stump. Lucky the stump was there or the car would have sideswiped the tree on the left and crashed into the ditch! Looks like it's been there for a couple of days. We went for a walk down the road close to us, and it was slippy or slushy or clear in parts, still had to walk gingerly to avoid falling. There were a few cars parked on the side of the road like the one in the first extra, and we didn't see a single driveway that had been cleared of snow. There were tire tracks and footprints in some. We ran into some friends who said that they're waiting for it to warm up and rain. I'd rather be prepared to drive out if we have to!
