Actually there was nothing chilly about today at all. As we gathered for a family walk at the National Trust’s Croome it was 15 degrees.

The grounds designed by Capability Brown are a delight. Despite the busyness of all the other New Year’s Day family walkers there was plenty space for everyone. Our Gloucestershire grandsons enjoyed more bonus fun time with their uncle. Sadly the boomerang frisbee he gave them did not come back and sank in one of the ornamental lakes!

Great virtual catch up with my sisters and brothers in law on FaceTime this early evening. A relaxing tv evening. (Our children pointed out that Netflix is included in our current package - who knew?!)

We all walk into a new calendar year with high hopes for a more certain 12 months in prospect than the preceding 24 that have been dominated by COVID-19.
