The duck that stole the show.
Another trip out to Lake Mangamahoe this morning. I love it there as its just so pretty and quiet. Im sure I will do many blips from this very spot and cant wait to get an awesome shot when the mountain is covered in snow and the water is still and reflecting the mountain. I will be watching the weather closely this winter to grab the opportunity for the perfect shot. Today I was practicing my landscape shooting after reading up on the the best settings and arming myself with a bit of knowledge. I have in the past wondered why my landscapes were turning out flat and uninteresting. Today I set the aperture to 22 and shutter speed to 1/250 to give myself a moderate depth of field. I was happily clicking away when this duck came over started begging for food. I found some stale bread in the car(don't ask) and threw him some and I decided to get down to his level and use him as my foreground. I probably should have wound back the aperture a bit but in my hast I forgot. I still think this shot worked well. He was a very friendly Duck.
ETA Its always nice to find a secluded spots where you can lie on the ground to get the right shot and not have people look on, thinking you must be crazy! LOL!
Hands up who has done the crouch, lie flat, bend over dance with your camera!! LOL!
