New Year's Eve

FRIDAY

I could have blipped my morning walk, or the fireworks at the local cricket club this evening, but for me, the most fitting photograph of the day (and probably the whole year) is one that our daughter Harriet sent me during her meal break at the hospital this evening.  
 
After a nine-hour shift, she will drive home and crawl into bed and then she will be up before dawn tomorrow as she is back on duty at 9:00 for a 12½ hour shift on New Year’s Day.
 
If I manage to stay awake, I will be seeing in the New Year with a glass of something fizzy.
