Table Toppers

Today's image is part of our Christmas table setting. Instead of standard Christmas decorations we decided to go with Chinese style lantern lights, a ceramic illuminated building, a carved wooden deer, a bit of family silver, a wooden camel and a Royal Doulton figurine that belonged to my mum called "Fair Maiden". Sometimes you just have to go for something a bit different!
It's difficult to believe but this image was taken in the early afternoon. We have had such gloomy weather recently with wind, rain and a huge fluctuations in temperatures from very cold to extremely mild for the time of year. It has meant we haven't ventured very far but on the other hand it has certainly added a distinct cosiness factor where you have just wanted to stay inside and enjoy being in a your own little bubble, where you can just shut out the outside world for a few days.
