Honister Pass
The weather was kind to us today as we made our way North into the Lake District.
We stopped at Grange and then wended our way fairly leisurely over the wondrous Honister Pass, the snow glistening in the sun, beautiful.
Honister is home to a slate mine which is now more of a visitor centre. Very sadly the young man responsible for regenerating the area recently died mid-battle with the local council over a plan to bring an economic boost to the area. (I feel I should add that his death was not related to the 'battle').
Next to picturesque Buttermere and slowly back to Kirby Lonsdale - stopping to take in the view, take pictures and gaze in awe; almost too much.
The fresh air has taken it's toll, happily tired after dinner. Early start home tomorrow.
