City of shifting light

Full quote carved in a wall near the EICC is:
"This is a city of shifting light, of changing skies, of sudden vistas. A city so beautiful it breaks the heart again and again."


It's by Alexander McCall Smith. I've seen it each time I've gone for a vaccine and today was booster day. 


Unfortunately the light in Edinburgh today has been mostly dull and grey. The vistas remain though.
