Bergenia Flowers
Way back on 21st February I photographed the large leathery leaves of a bergenia plant after a night of 8 degrees of frost. Today I pictured the bergenia flowers which are the first overwintering plants in the garden to bloom. Usually the daffodils beat them to it but not this year. The pink bell-like flowers are small compared to its large 'elephant ears' leaves. I can't imagine there will be any pollinating insects around in current temperatures. As is my habit, I've given this a little touch of the artistic filter - this time 'paint daubs'.
