The Early Bird.

It wasn't a worm that this Green Woodpecker was after this morning, it was ants. They had obviously been disturbed when the meter man from the water board yesterday read our meter and repainted the grass where the meter is situated.

V spotted the bird as she was getting up early this morning before it had become fully light. I had to grab this photo quickly but only managed one shot through the window before it flew off, which explains the less than perfect focus and exposure.
