Happy Christmas
I was in bed before midnight last night with all presents wrapped and under the tree! The veg were prepared and all was ready for this morning. Today I woke in plenty of time. I put the turkey in the oven on the timer prepared the stuffing and headed it to church.
We had a small congregation, but it was a lovely service, lots of carols and all socially distanced and be-masked.
When I got home we set the table and then busied ourselves getting ready, I drove over to Ali's to pick up Marvin the pug. They had spent the morning with Stuart's family and were coming to join us for lunch.
While I was out I had one of those why didn't I take a picture moments. I passed Santa riding a bike on the Queensferry Road, so gave him a toot and a wave. I picked Marvin up in Corstorphine and was just heading home when I passed Santa again, he'd ridden over Drumbrae, a very steep hill, in the time since I'd seen him. I waved him through again, then thought there is my blip. I quickly drove round the block and came back to get ahead of him only to find he had vanished! Clearly he'd dropped off the sleigh and reindeer and was heading home for Christmas lunch when I saw him. What a 'blip that never was' that would have been.
So I give you our Christmas Lunch. We ate at 4pm and had Christmas pudding at 8pm and biscuits and cheese at 10, but we made it!
Happy Christmas blippers, and, God bless us every one, to quote Tiny Tim!
