Red Kite
Very late back tonight after a fabulous day with our family. We left there about 2 0'clock but , instead of heading back up the Loch Lomond road and the Rest & Be Thankful , we went in the opposite direction to the Argaty Red Kite centre in time for the feeding near the hide.
I know I often say Large might be worth a look but I do hope you have time to look large as there is so much detail in this big bird.
they put out food for the birds throughout the winter until the birds head off for the nesting season . Apparently they are later nesting this year because of the bad winter and the recent really cold weather. They expect most of the birds to be away by next week.
It is a really wonderful sight as the birds approach the area near the hide, they circle overhead waiting as the know the food will be put out for them , they are so fast , I must have taken so many blips before I got ths one. They swoop down and are off so quickly on those enormous wings and glide and dive overhead for about twenty minutes.
I still have a lot of Raw images to work through to see if I have any keepers, hope I do.
Off cours , as the weather was wonderful we took the round trip homewards , going via Callender where we stopped of and had a wander around there, a lovely meal then the long trek homewards.
Hope you all had a great Easter weekend.
