in the car

Jess loves going in the car. Sarah drives a Citroën C1 and Jess occupies the back seat.  She likes to sit up and look out at the cars going past. 

Here we all are coming back from our walk (me) and run (Sarah and Jess) at Tynron Doon. It was rather a dreich day with sleety rain on the tops, but good to be out and about.

Our boiler suddenly went off on Tuesday, straight after the plumber had been to fix a dripping tap. We thought it might be a lack of oil, but the tank was filled this morning and still the boiler didn't work. D noticed that the light on the wall switch had gone out so I replaced the fuse...and hurrah! the boiler came to life! for all of 5 minutes and then the fuse blew again. I left a message with the heating engineer but he texted back that he was sorry, but "I am really busy right now". We can boil water for washing and we have a woodburning stove so we can live without central heating and hot showers...after all, people have done it for centuries :-)

Sarah and I watched "It's a Wonderful Life" this afternoon. I used to always watch it on  Christmas Eve before D came home from work.
