Car Inspector

Our little guy is just a little over 2 and is obsessed with cars.  He has his own large collection of tiny cars and he can spend hours holding them and looking at every detail on them.  He picks up a car, and slowly looks at the front, the back, the sides and underneath before putting it down.  He loves to place them in lines and in this picture he has decided that Grandpa's leg would make a perfect parking lot.  After he places each one, he takes a very close look at the car.  You wonder what is going through that little head.  

We picked him up mid-morning and took a ride to Long Beach.  Although it was cold, there was no wind and the sun was shining so we were able to take a nice stroll along the boardwalk before lunch.  Unfortunately, he fell asleep in the car on the way back to the hotel so we drove around for 2 hours until he woke up.  My husband had grown up in a nearby town, so this gave him an opportunity to drive back to the old neighborhood, past his childhood home, various schools and friends' houses and give me the tour....again.  Once he woke up, we headed back to the hotel, gave him lunch and spent the afternoon in our room where he inspected his cars, and set up parking lots, occasionally taking a break for an iPad game.
