Diary of an Edinburgher

Bin Find Number 123

A day off the gym for JR. She needed to get to Waitrose first thing instead. Robert came to take Archie out, and I nipped to the chemist to get some more tests, and to get more oat milk. And, perchance to get a couple more chocolate Santas… they were lined up in serried ranks the other day, dozens and dozens of ‘em. Today there were… NONE!!

However, I got JR a Christmas present. She has long expressed the desire to have the car professionally valeted. Now, I think I do a fairly good job as I have cleaned up quite a few carpets when Archie has missed the sick bag I haven’t been quick enough with the sick bag. I don’t believe JR’s claims that there are dog nose marks on the back window from when Bailey was in the back with Archie. NOT TRUE.

So who should I spot this morning - ‘Dr Valet’ doing a car. So he’s booked in with us. Not till January, but it’s coming. JR is suitably delighted. I had to tell her, because she came walking along as I was negotiating with the Doctor. I could not hide what was happening.

Our slight flood from upstairs is not fixed yet. The young chap came today, and thought he sorted a bit, but it dripped even more. Shame, it’s not even stuff he’s supposed to be doing - it’s old pipes hidden under the floorboards. These old houses/flats can throw up nasty surprises.

But we were going out early evening, and he hadn’t got it fixed… which meant - Plan B: JR went at the appointed time, and I waited till we were sure we would not be leaked on any more, or till he switched the water off again, whichever came first.

Edit: Had our evening out. Most pleasant. Came back to no flooding. All good.

Archie - You are my sunshine!
