A has discovered chess.
Played for the first time today.
Check mated me*, and I did not see it coming.
Wanted to just keep playing. Even when the power went out** and we could no longer see the board.

*my lack of knowledge of proper chess lingo is probably a giveaway that I don’t know much more than which direction each piece can move.

** power out b/c the tree next to the one that fell onto the power lines during strong winds a few weeks ago, causing us to lose power for 2 days, has also fallen onto the power lines during strong winds today. What do you know?
