Basic Geometry, or the Cumberland Spiral?
Another ROFL job I couldn't pass...Spotted, where else but Morrison's?
A ring ..."A circular object, form, line, or arrangement with a vacant circular center."
Spiral or helix?.
While a "spiral" and a "helix" are distinct as technical terms, a helix is sometimes described as a spiral in non-technical usage.
Examples of helixes are coil springs and the handrails of spiral staircases.
In mathematics, a spiral is a curve which emanates from a central point, getting progressively farther away as it revolves around the point.
I put it to you, members of the jury.
1. The above emphatically does not match any of those descriptions.
2. I, further, suggest that what is sold as a Cumberland "Ring" is in fact a Cumberland Helix.
3. If anyone can support the motion ... a "Cumberland Ring'' is, again emphatically, not the traditional way of serving it "they" would have us believe.
4. For the REAL nerds, rabbit-shavers and "hare-splitters" surely more than one helix ought to be a number of Helices??
The defence rests yer Honour.
